If you have not seen the latest installment to the Harry Potter series, then I suggest you get up off your computer chairs and hightail to the nearest movie theater.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was absolutely the best movie of the entire collection thus far. Daniel Radcliff, Tom Felton, Alan Rickman and the other cast members portray their parts with new life as they struggle with their deepest desires and the fear of what is to come.
Tom Felton’s character Draco Malfoy was breathtaking to watch. Felton’s portrayal of a scared and stressed teenage boy whom is forced head first into the war between light and dark is spectacularly captured.
I felt myself overcome with a new sense of understanding about Draco’s character and his own wishes that clash with the rather dark and strict upbringing of his noble pure blood. I find that I cannot help but want for the boy to succeed and yet at the same time, I wish all too much that his attempts will not flourish.
As an avid reader of the Harry Potter fandom and having read the sixth book far too many times, I am glad to say that this movie is by far my favorite in the representation of the book.
At times I felt the need to cry or place a hand over my heart to stop the wild beatings of anxiety and fright or even pinch myself to remember to breath. I don’t ever remember finishing off my drink, it’s a rather good thing I decided to hold the cup in my hands otherwise I might have forgotten it in the fantastically woven tale of the sixth movie.
I can now only hold my breath and wait rather impatiently for the next two movies to come, I fear that November of 2010 is much too far away.
